Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus as of April 1, 2021
As of April 1, 2021 public debt amounted to 59.3 billion rubles and increased by 1.5 billion rubles or 2.7% from the beginning of the 2021.
External public debt amounted to 18.1 billion USD as of April 1, 2021 and decreased by 0.5 billion USD or 2.4% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January-March 2021 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 171.5 million USD in equivalent of which:
- 122.7 million USD – Russian government loan;
- 40.3 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 8.3 million USD – Export-Import Bank of China loans;
- 0.2 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans.
External debt redemption in January-March 2021 totaled 568.7 million USD of which:
- 242.7 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 189.9 million USD – Banks of China loans;
- 112.1 million USD – Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loans;
- 22.0 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 1.5 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and Nordic Investment Bank loans;
- 0.5 million USD – USA Commodity Credit Corporation loans.
Domestic public debt amounted to 11.8 billion rubles as of April 1, 2021 and increased by 1.9 billion rubles or 19.1% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 721.0 million USD in January-March 2021. Redemption of foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 3.0 million USD.
