Public Debt of the Republic of Belarus
As of September 1, 2018 public debt amounted to 44.0 billion rubles and increased by 1.8 billion rubles or 4.3% from the beginning of the 2018.
External public debt amounted to 16.6 billion USD as of September 1, 2018 and declined by 173.1 million USD, or 1.0% from the beginning of the 2018 (taking into account exchange rate differences).
In January-August 2018 external public debt disbursements were made in the amount of 1 632.5 million USD of which:
- 613.9 million USD – Russian government and banks loans;
- 600.0 million USD – Eurobonds;
- 314.0 million USD – Chinese banks loans;
- 100.6 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 4.0 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans and Nordic Investment Bank loans.
External debt redemption for this period totaled 1 637.0 million USD of which:
- 800.0 million USD – Eurobonds;
- 337.7 million USD – Chinese banks loans;
- 281.8 million USD – Russian government loans;
- 176.6 million USD – Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development loans;
- 39.8 million USD – International Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans;
- 0.7 million USD – USA Commodity Credit Corporation loans;
- 0.4 million USD – European Bank for Reconstruction and Development loans and Nordic Investment Bank loans.
Domestic public debt amounted to 9.5 billion rubles as of September 1, 2018 and increased by 373,2 million rubles, or 4.1% from the beginning of the year (taking into account exchange rate differences).
Placement of domestic foreign currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 270.9 million USD for January-August of 2018. Redemption of foreign currency and local currency government bonds for legal entities and individuals amounted to 241.5 million USD and 23.1 million rubles.
