Standard&Poor’s affirms Belarus “B/B” Ratings (outlook stable)

On April 5, 2019 Standard&Poor’s affirmed its “B/B” long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Belarus with stable outlook.

The Agency estimates that annual GDP growth will account for 2% in middle-term. The Agency highlighted the improving quality of FX reserves of the country and exports diversification (both geography and export items decomposition) as well as tight fiscal policy stance and its consistency with monetary policy which allowed stabilizing public debt and inflation.

S&P experts welcomed the fact that Belarus has an access to international capital markets and the prospects to raise Russia’s loan this year.
